Terms and Conditions for Fluffy Bums Groom Room Ltd.
These must be read before your first appointment and are subject to change.
Drop off & Collections
Please notify me if you’re going to be late for drop off. If you are more than 15 minutes late you may be charged a late fee of £10 as I will need to work quicker, as to not run late for my next appointment.
If you arrive so late that I do not have enough time to complete the groom in your time slot your appointment may be cancelled, in this situation you will be charged the full price of the groom as I would have lost a grooming slot and impacted my earnings.
If you are going to be late collecting, please let me know as I will have a client booked in after you that I have offered a one-to-one service to. At my discretion, I may charge an extra £10 fee for every 15 minutes I have to hold your dog on site.
If you arrive early when dropping off or collecting, please wait outside, out of sight of the window. I may have a dog on the table, and you entering or being seen may excite them. When collecting this may affect the finish of the groom and full charges will still apply.
Cancellations
Please ensure that you give me at least 48 hour’s notice if you are unable to attend your appointment. Appointments cancelled after this time will mean you will be charged 50% of your groom.
However, I understand emergencies etc. do happen, if you’re a loyal customer and this is a rare occurrence, if I manage to rebook your time slot at short notice I may waiver this fee. This will be at the salon owner’s discretion.
No Shows
If you do not attend your appointment and no contact has been made you will be charged the full cost of services booked. A deposit may be required for further bookings.
Payments
Payments can be made in cash or by card. Please be aware I do not do payment plans, cheques or bank transfers that are not instant.
I do not offer refunds; however, I will do my best to rectify any issues to ensure you are satisfied.
Matting
Matting can be very painful and it’s important I do what is right for your dog and adhere to the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
If your dog is found to be matted an additional fee of up to £15 may be added on top of the full groom price. Where possible I will remove small knots and mats in order to save as much coat as possible, for extensive matting, or it is uncomfortable for the dog to be de-matted then I will have no choice but to shave the coat off with a close blade. Matting causes my equipment to blunt and takes much longer than a normal groom hence the additional fee.
I accept no liability for any skin issues that may be uncovered as a result of removing a matted coat such as nicks, scabs, cuts, hot spots, fungal and bacterial issues, maggots, and pre-existing irritation. Additionally, I take no liability for any post-grooming effects of removing a matted coat which may include, but not be limited to: hematomas, itchiness, skin redness, irritation or abrasions. This also includes self-inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive rubbing or scratching post-groom. Removing matting comes with an increased risk of injury due to scissors and short blades. The very best care and attention will be taken to avoid this however should an accident occur due to matting I will take no liability and any resulting vet fees will be paid by the dog owner.
Fleas
Please keep up to date with your flea treatment. If fleas are found, I may be unable to continue with the groom and the groom price will still apply and a £10 deep clean fee added. If I have no other dogs due in that day, then I may continue with the groom and there will be an additional £5 fee for flee shampoo and £10 fee for a deep clean to make sure there is no contamination.
Accidents
Whilst we will take every care and attention possible when grooming your dog, unfortunately accidents may happen, and these are accepted at the owner’s risk. These are animals that move, and we are working with very sharp equipment. Should an accident occur, I will provide basic first aid and you will be informed. Should I be unable to continue the groom, I will contact you and if required take your dog for veterinary attention with costs payable by the dog owner. We will not be liable for medical or billing costs.
Should you feel your dog requires veterinary attention as the result of the groom that has not been discussed with you on collection, please contact me beforehand to discuss and be aware I will require a full report from the vet for possible insurance purposes.
Difficult dogs (Aggression, Behaviour issues and Stress)
PLEASE NOTE: As a lone groomer, for safety, I do not take on aggressive dogs.
It is very important and your duty to inform us of any medical or behavioural issues or past bad experiences with previous groomers as it may affect the way we groom the dog. If at any point due to your dog’s behaviour, if the groom is deemed unsafe, either to us or the dog then the groom will be stopped, and you will be charged the full price of the groom.
Should they be required, and where possible, a muzzle and other restraints may be used.
If your dog bites or keeps attempting to bite, shows unhappy behaviour such as snarling and snapping the groom may be stopped.
Where possible, I may suggest smaller or extra sessions to try help rehabilitate the behaviour to make the groom a less stressful experience, but this would be on a case-by-case basis.
However, the dog’s welfare comes first, and I will not push a dog through this level of stress and a vet referral may be required.
Should your dog become too stressed during the grooming process I reserve the right to stop the groom and continue at another date at additional cost to the dog owner.
Difficult dogs can take longer to groom, and an additional fee may be added to accommodate this.
Over Due Grooms
A fee may be applied if your dog is over due a groom as this is more work and takes longer.
Bitches
I do not groom bitches that are in season, pregnant or nursing puppies due to the stress on the dog.
Nail Clipping
After nail clipping your dog’s nails may be sharp. I am not liable if your dog scratches you or any of your property.
Treats
We like to give a minimal number of treats for positive reinforcement, but this will only be done with your permission. Please let us know if you’d prefer we didn’t or you are welcome to bring your own suitable treats especially if they have special dietary requirements.
Toilet and Water Breaks
These will be provided but please ensure that your dog has been to the toilet before a groom. Please make sure you dispose of any fouling.
There are no toilet facilities for the Humans.
Parking
Please park on my long driveway, located to the rear of my house (not the car park to the rear of my garden as this car park is for other properties). Please park on my driveway in line with the garage (and not on the attached driveway as this is owed by next door).
Please walk toward the garage and go through the garden gate to your left. You will then see a door to your right, on the side of the garage where I will be waiting.
If you are not happy with your dog’s groom or have any concerns, please contact me within 24hrs of leaving the salon.
I will do my best to rectify any issues but take no liability for anything brought to my attention after this time.
Please make sure your dog(s) are on the lead when visiting the Groom Room.
When you book an appointment with Fluffy Bums Groom Room Ltd you are agreeing that you have read and understand my grooming policy.
