Puppy Grooms
Grooming is essential to your new fur baby’s health and wellbeing; you want to make sure they have a lifetime of stress-free experiences in the groom room.
It’s important to introduce them while they are young. Although they won’t have a full groom until around 6 months of age, I recommend getting them in at least 3 times before this to build their confidence, starting from 12 weeks of age and after vaccinations and any veterinarian timeframe period of keeping them inside, is complete.
Session 1 – The introduction! - 30 mins for £10
No cutting at this stage as the puppy hair is still growing and we don’t want to overwhelm them. This appointment is all about fun! They will get to see the salon, explore the smells, and get to meet me, their groomer. We will have playtime and treats, and I will slowly start to introduce the noises normally found in the groom room. They will also learn, that although Mum/Dad left them here, they always come back again.
Session 2 – The Puppy Pamper Bath & Blow Dry - 1.5 hr for £30
We will take our time with another fun welcome and then introduce the bath! I will work slow and gently massage in the shampoo and of course include the odd treat. The aim is to give a relaxing feel to the bathtub. I will use the dryer on a very low setting to get them used to the feel and noise, with the aim to get them as dry as possible. Lots of cuddles and breaks will be included!
Session 3 – The Pamper Repeat and Trim! – 1.5 - 2 hr for £35
In this session we will go through the bath and drying process again but also introduce scissors/trimmers/claw clippers! I will do some light trimming around the eyes, feet and sanitary areas if needed.
During this process I will also be able to help and give advice on what grooming can be done at home, techniques, and correct tools for the coat type.
We should hopefully then be ready for the first full groom!
Please contact me for more information or to ask any questions! We can of course adjust the puppy sessions to accommodate their breed and coat type.
